How it works
From clause to award, in five steps.
A written, adversarial, online procedure. Simple for the parties to follow, rigorous on the merits.
The story of Alice and Bruno
Follow a Concorda case from start to finish, in three chapters. Videos in French.
The arbitration clause
Alice and Bruno add an arbitration clause to their contract: if a dispute arises, Concorda decides, not the courts.
Opening the case
The dispute arises: Alice brings her claim to Concorda, files it, the respondent is invited and the arbitrator is appointed.
Proceedings and award
The adversarial exchange (submissions, allegations, admitted/disputed matrix), then the AI-assisted draft award, reviewed and signed by the arbitrator.
1
The clause or the submission agreement
The parties agree to submit their dispute to arbitration by Concorda, through a clause inserted in a contract or through a submission agreement signed once the dispute has arisen.2
Filing the claim
The claimant files the claim and exhibits online. The respondent is automatically invited to join the case.3
The adversarial proceedings
Exchange of submissions, monitored deadlines: each party has its say. AI structures the facts and the evidence to prepare the case.4
The decision
The arbitrator assesses the evidence, decides the dispute, gives reasons and signs the award.5
Enforcement
The award is notified to the parties. It is an enforceable title (art. 387 CPC) and is enforced like a judgment. On the basis of the agreement, the arbitrator may also impose a penalty on the party that fails to comply with the decision, to encourage enforcement. At every step, a human arbitrator stays in control. AI assists, it never decides.
AI prepares
- Extracts the allegations from the submissions.
- Draws up the matrix of admitted and contested points.
- Summarises the case for the arbitrator.
- Prepares drafts, submitted to the arbitrator.
The arbitrator decides
- Conducts the proceedings and sets the deadlines.
- Assesses the evidence and the arguments.
- Decides the dispute in law.
- Gives reasons and signs the award.
